As I am a virgin blogger I thought for my first attempt I would tell you a little about myself and how I got here.
I am a 35yr old married mother of two teenage daughters. My current employment status reads UNemployed, this was of course by choice.
Up until a few weeks ago I was cook at a care home, but the hours conflicted with my husbands making family time almost impossible. Also the job wasn’t satisfying me as the cooking was very heavy, traditional english fare which is not where my passion in cooking lies. So together, my husband and I decided that I would leave work and find something that makes me happy and gives us a better work and home life balance.
So….here I am. Trying to figure out exactly what it is I wish to spend the rest of my life doing. Making my family happy is a given, and I definitley want to do something food related. I have many many ideas, some may say they are pipe dreams but I’m determined to become a success in the culinary world one way or another….so watch this space.
Well I’ve fancied trying kimchi for a while now, but where I live there are no Korean restaurants or any where I could find it already jarred.
I’d eaten kimchi flavour noodles, kimchi flavour soup etc….but it’s just not the same, so I decided to google the recipe and found it wasn’t that difficult to make after all.
So I made my first small batch last week…..and I’ve eaten it!!!
I didn’t even wait long enough for it to ferment properly, it was just too damn good.
Anyway I’ve made myself another double batch tonight and I’m going to try and wait at least four days before tucking in.
The thing is chilli is SO addictive, and in my personal opinion, more addictive than chocolate. They say that chilli releases endorphins, those little receptors that make us feel pleasure. Ilove anything spicy, and if I go longer than a day without a chilli in my meal I’m craving it so bad. I get moody and have headaches and the husband moves out! ( the last part was an exaggeration, but you get the picture)
But this is why I ask the question….’is kimchi more addictive than chocolate?’
